I really like your thinking wrt the windows but in my experience this is not common. Most developers would put in the cheapest damn stuff - they won’t be paying the energy bills in the years to come. The entire exercise is to minimize upfront costs. Good for you. Maybe you can get some tax breaks or something……
Thanks Steven. I did qualify for some grant funding through Efficiency VT by going further than state energy code. But, for windows, they only care that you go below a U-value of 0.28 for multifamily buildings. Would be nice if they had an additional tier!
